Day 01
Fly to Paro 2,280 m and drive to Thimphu 2,320 m – 02 hrs.
Morning depart from Kathmandu for an hour flight or little more to land at Paro international airport of Bhutan. This airport is dangerous and only eight pilots are qualified to landtheir according to DailyMail. Eye on panorama of mountain range during air borne.
At Paro airport complete visa formalities, then our native Bhutanese guide receives you for short scenic drive to Bhutan capital at Thimphu. It is an interesting journey of less than two hours overlooking lovely views of Bhutan rural farm villages of typical Buddhist cultured villages.
On reaching Thimphu transfer to respective hotels. A modern city of Bhutan, the one and only city in this world without traffic lights. All the traffic are controlled by traffic police with a whistle.
Afternoon with time, go for interesting walk around Bhutan capital and witness its great culture with traditional life of Bhutanese.
Day 02
Tour of Thimphu at places of interest.
After breakfast depart from the hotel for interesting tour around Thimphu. So, this includes visit of memorial stupas, indigenous hospital, where traditional medicine is still practiced.
Afternoon visit includes Changangkha Lhakhang, the oldest temple of valley, with short scenic drive to large and recently built Buddha statue.
Enjoy wonderful view of entire Thimphu valley. With interesting tour return back to hotel with afternoon free for individual activities.
Day 03
Drive to Trongsa 2,900 m (129 k.m.) – 04 hrs.
After wonderful time in Thimphu, in morning scenic drive leads over Duchulu pass at 3,050 meters. Then, reach at Trongsa which includes Pele-la a pass above 3,150 m high. Interestingly, this offers grand views of beautiful Bhutan’s landscapes. Then drive to reach Trongsa for overnight stop.
Trongsa is a small countryside village with nice surroundings. Stop for overnight stay in lodge or nice guesthouse with possible lunch too. Afternoon will be free so, walk around impressive village of Trongsa and interact with natives.
Day 04
Drive to Bumthang 2,600 m (68 k.m.)- 03 hrs.
From Trongsa after breakfast, drive overlooking grand scenery of inner Bhutan’s country life with high peaks.The 3 hours interesting journey takes to Bumthang for overnight stop.
Bumthang is at located central part of Bhutan. At Bumthang enjoy visiting its charming town with many farms and agriculture are.Take a great view of the area with large green fields and coniferous alpine woodland, lined with rhododendron and pine trees.
In Bumthang, stay in a nice Guest Houses with warm Bhutanese hospitality. Afternoon visit 17th century Jakar Dzong, at present administration centre of Bumthang valley.
Day 05
Tour of Bhumthang and drive to Punakha 1,350 m – 06 hrs.
Enjoying wonderful moments at Bhumthang, early morning drive to Punakha across Dochula pass 3,080 m with overnight in Punakha. With time tour Punakha Dzong which was built strategically at the junction of Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers in 1637 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, to serve as the religious and administrative center of the region.
Day 06
Drive from Punakha to Paro 2,280 m (150 Km) – 05 hrs
After breakfast drive to Wangdiphodrang ,visit Dzong and local market.The area of Wangdiphodrang is famous for its bamboo products, slate and stone carvings.
Having lunch drive to Paro with a short stop at Dochula pass. En route visit Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress of the Kingdom built in 1627. It now houses the School for Buddhist studies. Today’s best tour in Bhutan ends with overnight in Paro.
Day 07
At Paro, sightseeing places of great interest.
With early morning breakfast our Bhutan guide will pick you from the hotel, for a nice and pleasant walk with an hour or less. Now, climb up on slow easy pace to famous Taksang Monastery (Tiger’s nest). This offers amazing views of Paro and distance snow- capped peaks. After a wonderful time here, descend by the same route. Fly from Paro to connecting destination or back to Kathmandu.
