Itinerary

  • Day01

    Early morning after breakfast, you will be heading toward foot of Chandragiri Hill. Take a ride on Chandragiri cable car and walk for few minutes to reach view point or Hill top. Then get back to hill base with cable car ride.

    The entire Chandragiri Hills tour is going to be completed in only a single day, perhaps only a few hours. The day will start with breakfast in your hotel. Once you are prepared for the day tour, your driver will drive you to the location.

    As soon as you are off your vehicle, you will be guided towards the cable cars, from where you will be ascending to the Chandragiri hills at 2,551 m and 7,500 ft of height. The height is one of the highest within the valley. Once you land, you can find several places for your children to play, for you to relax, and restaurants where you can eat as you wish.

    Additionally, there are several souvenir shops from where you can take along memoirs for your loved ones. Bhaleshwor Mahadev temple in Chandragiri hills is perfect for Hindu devotees. The temple also marks both the historical and religious significance of Chandragiri, which was considered one of the four routes to Kathmandu Valley taken by the king of Gorkha, Prithvi Narayan Shah. Once you are done with your day tour of Chandragiri Hills, you will be brought down to your ride back home from the cable car again.

    Since Swoyambhunath stupa is quite close to the Chandragiri hills, you can also take a day tour there. The stupa is one of the oldest ones in Nepal and holds great significance among Buddhist and Hindu devotees. Swoyambhunath is also one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Your day tour here is completely optional and is not included in the Chandragiri Hills day tour itself.

    Once you are back from your day tour to Chandragiri, you will be driven back to your hotel by your driver, where you can finally take off your traveling shoes and relax by evening time.

  • Best Winter Tour to See Kathmandu Valley and Enjoy Snow – Chandragiri Hills

    I think Chandragiri Hills is the best and easiest place to enjoy panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley. I did this tour with Dhruba Dharel from Eco Holidays Nepal, and it was one of the best tours I’ve experienced in Nepal.

    I visited during winter, and Chandragiri turned out to be the perfect place to play in the snow. In Kathmandu city itself, it’s rare to find snow, but at Chandragiri, you can enjoy it fully , making it a great winter destination .
