Itinerary of Bhutan Short Cultural Tour - 4 days
Day 01
Fly to Paro 2,280 m and drive to Thimphu 2,320 m – 02 hrs.
Morning depart from Kathmandu for an hour flight or little more to land at Paro international airport of Bhutan. Enjoy the panorama of mountain range during air borne.
At Paro airport complete visa formalities, where our native Bhutanese guide receives you for short scenic drive to Thimphu. it’s an interesting journey of less than two hours overlooking lovely views of typical Buddhists Bhutan rural farm villages.
On reaching Thimphu you get transfer to respective hotels. It’s a modern city of Bhutan and the one and only city in this world without traffic lights. It’s all controlled by traffic police with a whistle.
Afternoon with time for interesting walk around Bhutan capital and witness its great culture and traditional life of Bhutanese.
Day 02
Tour of Thimphu at places of interest.
After breakfast, we depart from the hotel for interesting tour around Thimphu. It includes the visit of memorial stupas, indigenous hospital, where traditional medicine still practiced and traditional painting school.
Afternoon visit includes Changangkha Lhakhang, the oldest temple of valley with a short drive to large and recently built Buddha statue.
Enjoy wonderful view of entire Thimphu valley. After an interesting tour, we return back to hotel with afternoon free for individual activities.
Day 03
Drive to Paro with tour around places of interest.
Morning drive back to Paro with afternoon visit to famous Taktsang(Tiger’s Nest) Monastery. It includes tour of 17th century Ta-Dzong, later converted into National Museum in 1967.
Day 04
Fly from Paro to connecting destination or back to Kathmandu.
Finally all good times comes to an end. After great memories and exciting experience in Bhutan, the land of Thundering Dragon, it’s time for the flight. Finally, you get transfer to Bhutan international airport for flight to respective destinations or back at Kathmandu city.

Do I need a visa to travel to Bhutan, and what are the associated fees?
Yes. All foreign visitors (except nationals from India, Bangladesh, and the Maldives) require a visa. Visas are issued through licensed Bhutanese tour operators. Fees are generally included in the minimum daily package, which starts around $200–$250 per person per day, covering accommodation, meals, guide, and permits.
Do I need travel insurance when visiting Bhutan?
While not mandatory, travel insurance is strongly recommended, especially for medical emergencies, high-altitude trekking, and trip cancellations.
Can I travel independently in Bhutan, and is it suitable for solo travelers?
Independent travel is not allowed for most international tourists. You must book a guided package tour through a licensed operator. Solo travelers can visit, but they still need a tour package.
What is the currency used in Bhutan, and are international cards accepted?
The Bhutanese Ngultrum (BTN) is the official currency . Major hotels and shops in cities accept credit/debit cards, but cash is preferred in rural areas.
Can I fly a drone for travel videography in Bhutan?
No. Drone use is strictly prohibited without special permission from the Bhutanese government.
